Green Beans Italian Style

Ingredients
  Green beans 1 Pound
  Vegetable oil/Olive oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), peeled and minced
  Chopped parsley 2 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Beef broth 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Tomato 1 Medium, peeled and thinly sliced
Directions

1. Wash the beans and cut off the ends. Put the beans into a 10-inch skillet with the oil, garlic, parsley, sugar, salt, and pepper, and cook, covered, over low heat for 15 minutes.
2. Add the broth. Cook, uncovered, for 5 more minutes, or until the beans are almost tender. Raise the heat to moderate, add the tomato, and cook, uncovered, for another 5 minutes.
