Carolyn S Sicilian Pasta
|Chopped onion||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Olive oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Garlic||2 Clove (10 gm), minced|
|Canned sardines in oil||11 1⁄4 Ounce, drained and mashed (3 Cans Of 3 3/4 Ounce Each)|
|Canned anchovies||2 Ounce, drained and mashed (1 Can)|
|Fennel seed||1 Tablespoon|
|Raisins||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped parsley||1 Tablespoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1|
|Spaghetti/Fettuccini / other pasta||1 1⁄2 Pound|
In a large kettle, bring water to a boil.
In a skillet saute' onion in oil until tender.
Stir in remaining ingredients, except spaghetti, in order and cook over low heat until heated through.
When water boils, stir in spaghetti.
Cook until "al dente."
