Italian Style Veal Patties

  Egg 1 , beaten
  Soft bread crumbs 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried oregano 1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed
  Onion powder 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Dried basil 1⁄8 Teaspoon, crushed
  Ground veal/Lean ground beef 1 Pound
  Tomato sauce 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Grated parmesan cheese 1 Tablespoon

In a medium mixing bowl stir together the egg, bread crumbs, salt, oregano, 1/8 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/8 teaspoon basil.
Add ground veal or beef; mix well.
Shape into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
In an 8x8x2-inch baking dish micro-cook patties, uncovered, on 100% power (HIGH) for 6 to 7 minutes or till done, turning patties and rotating the dish a half-turn once.
Let stand, covered, while preparing sauce.
For sauce, in a 1-cup measure stir together tomato sauce, 1/8 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/8 teaspoon dried basil.
Cover with clear plastic wrap; vent by leaving a small area unsealed at the edge of the dish.
Micro-cook on 100% power (HIGH) for 1 to 2 minutes or till heated through, stirring once.
Transfer meat patties to a serving platter.
Pour sauce over patties.
Sprinkle some of the Parmesan cheese atop each patty.
