Italian Cheese Sticks
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/4 teaspoon salt
Few dashes cayenne
2 tablespoons water
Bring butter and cheese to room temperature.
Beat together the butter and cheese till well blended.
Combine flour, oregano, salt, and cayenne; add to cheese mixture gradually.
Add water, mix till well blended.
Form dough into a ball.
Roll out on floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut into 3x3/4-inch strips or cut into shapes with small cookie cutters.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet in 400° oven for 8 to 10 minutes or till lightly browned.
Serve warm or cold.
