Venetian Rice & Peas In Broth
|Homemade chicken broth/49 1/2 ounce canned regular-strength chicken broth||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Long grain white rice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Frozen peas||10 Ounce (1 Package)|
In a 3- to 4-quart pan, bring broth to a boil.
Add rice; reduce heat, cover, and simmer until rice is tender, about 15 minutes.
Return broth-rice mixture to a boil; stir in peas (first bang package sharply against a hard surface to separate peas).
Simmer gently for 5 minutes.
If desired, offer cheese to add to individual servings.
