Bean And Pasta Soup Roman Style

Ingredients
  Leaf lard 1 Tablespoon
  Salt pork 1⁄8 Pound, chopped fine
  Onion 1 Medium, chopped fine
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), chopped fine
  Stalk celery 1 , chopped fine
  Fresh tomatoes 2 , peeled, seeded and chopped
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Freshly ground black pepper To Taste
  Warm water 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  Cooked white beans 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Elbow macaroni 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Freshly grated romano cheese 1 Tablespoon
Directions

1. In a large saucepan, melt the lard and add the salt pork, onion, garlic, and celery; brown well. Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper, warm water, and beans. Cook 5 minutes.
2. Add the elbow macaroni and cook 8 minutes longer.
