Microwaved Italian Style Meat Sauce
|Chopped onion||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Olive oil||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Canned italian style tomatoes||28 Ounce, drained and cut in pieces (1 Can)|
|Tomato paste||12 Ounce (Two 6 Ounce Cans)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Oregano leaves||1 Teaspoon|
1. Combine onion, garlic and oil in a 2-quart glass measuring pitcher. Cook uncovered in microwave oven 3 to 5 minutes at High, or until onion is soft; stir once.
2. Add meat and mix well. Cover with waxed paper. Cook in microwave oven 4 to 5 minutes at High, or until meat is no longer pink; stir once. Remove excess fat.
3. Stir remaining ingredients into meat mixture. Cook covered in microwave oven 5 to 8 minutes at High, or until bubbly; stir once.
