|Shortening||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unsweetened chocolate square||4 Ounce (4 X 1 Ounce Squares)|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Eggs||4 , beaten|
|Amaretto liqueur/Almond liqueur||2 Tablespoon|
|All purpose flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Sliced almonds||4 Tablespoon|
Combine shortening and chocolate in a heavy saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted.
Add sugar, stirring well.
Remove from heat, and cool.
Stir in eggs and amaretto.
Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture, stirring well.
Pour batter into a lightly greased 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 400° for 20 minutes; cool.
Frost with Amaretto Frosting.
Arrange almonds over top, and cut into 2-inch squares.
