Italian Tomato Sauce
|Olive oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Onion||1 Medium, finely chopped|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), peeled and crushed|
|Canned tomato sauce||15 Ounce|
|Dried basil leaves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dried oregano leaves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Place olive oil, onion and garlic in a deep, 1 1/2 quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole.
Heat, uncovered, on full power 3 minutes or until onion is tender; stir occasionally.
Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
Heat, covered, on full power 5 to 7 minutes or until sauce bubbles.
For more flavor, sauce may be heated on simmer for 25 to 35 minutes.
