Oils contain neither proteins nor carbohydrates, and vegetable oils do not contain cholesterol. Oil does contain fats and vitamins A, D, and E and is a valuable source of energy.
While selecting oil for cooking, check for the appropriate smoke point depending on the dish to be cooked. The temperature up to which oil can be heated before it starts to smoke is the Smoking Point of oil. It is extremely important that you use an oil that stands up to your cooking process.
