Asparagus is packed full of dietary fibre to keep your digestive system in good working order and is an excellent source of folic acid for growing bodies.

Asparagus contains dietary fiber that keeps our digestive system in track and also provides folic acid. However, asparagus has less shelf life and needs to be wrapped in a damp cloth and kept in a perforated plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Blanched asparagus can be frozen for longer duration. It is not necessary to peel asparagus, but it needs to be washed under cold water to remove sand and soil.
