Holt's Strawberry Preserves
|Fresh strawberries||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Sugar||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Lemon juice/1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar||3 Tablespoon|
Place in a wide kettle alternate layers of sugar and berries.
Bring slowly to a boil.
After the whole mass is boiling, cook 9 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add the lemon juice, or the 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar.
Let stand overnight.
The second day, boil 9
