Yeast Raised Corn Bread
|Compressed yeast/2 tablespoons dry active yeast||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs), heated to lukewarm|
|Eggs||2 , lightly beaten|
|Vegetable oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Stone ground yellow cornmeal||1|
|Whole wheat flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Brewer's yeast||3 Tablespoon|
1. Soften the compressed or dry active yeast in the milk. Blend in the remaining ingredients. Turn into a buttered 8-inch-square pan. Cover and set in a warm place to rise until almost doubled, about 30 minutes.
2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
3. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the bread is done.
