Professional Life of Sanjeev Kapoor

Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor is a familiar face on the Zee Television cookery show Khana Khazana and the easy to make Sanjeev Kapoor recipes with greatly experimented flavors have made the chef a favorite among food lovers. He had started his culinary career after being advised by a family friend to take up catering classes even though he himself aspired to take up engineering. Sanjeev Kapoor joined India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC)’s Kitchen Management Scheme and ranked first in his batch. His next breakthrough came when he created foods as a part of the catering team for New Delhi Asian Games in 1982 and then, went on to work as a chef in Hotel Varanasi Ashoka followed by Hotel Samrat, New Delhi. Sanjeev Kapoor next joined as a Chief Chef at New Zealand’s first African specialty restaurant by the name of Zanzibar after which he joined Shamiana, Wellington. He returned to India to work at Hotel Asoka’s Frontier Restaurant in New Delhi and later moved on to Juhu Centaur Hotel, Mumbai. In different courses of his professional life, Sanjeev Kapoor has organized numerous food festivals worldwide.

The renowned Indian chef now is one of the board members of Singapore Airlines International Culinary Panel along with award winning international celebrity chefs. Achievements

 Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor was honored with the National Award in the Best Chef category for the Year 2006-2007.

 He has been receiving the Indian ‘Best Cookery Show’ award by Television Academy (ITA) each year consecutively since the show started its journey in 2000 for the Zee Television cookery show - Khana Khazana.

 In 2005, the Khana Khazana show by Sanjeev Kapoor received yet another ‘Best Cookery Show’ award by Indian Telly.  He is also bagged the ‘Award for Brand Excellence’ in the fifth Indira Awards.

 Sanjeev Kapoor was also presented the ‘Hall of the Fame Award’ by the The Star of the Industry Awards for his unmatched contribution in the world of hospitality.

 He has also been presented the ‘Award of Honour’ by the Chandigarh Food Craft Institute.

 He has also bagged the ITM Institute of Hotel Management’s ‘Hall of Fame Award’.

 In Geneva, Sanjeev Kapoor was awarded the prestigious ‘Mercury Gold Award’ by IFCA while again in Frankfurt he was presented the ‘Mercury Silver Award’ by IFCA.

Sanjeev Kapoor plays host on the popular Zee TV cookery show called Khana Khazana, which has not only won several prestigious awards but is also the longest running cookery show in Asia which has already aired more than 700 episodes in the last 14 years. The chef has also launched his home production ‘Rasoi Khajina,’ a Marathi cookery show which is telecasted weekly on DD Sahayadri channel.
