Pav Bhaji

Pav Bhaji is a light snack comprising of a “Pav”, which means bread and “Bhaji”, a spiced curry that acts as a side dish for the bread. Pav Bhaji belongs to the Maharashtra region of India and has been popularized as an in-between-meals snack all over the world by Indians living in abroad. The bread is a version of the classic bread roll whereas the curry is prepared by mashing and frying potatoes, capsicum, onions, carrots and peas along with salt and spices on a thick bottomed tawa. The thick gravy is then served as a dipping for the bread. Pav Bhaji a favorite tea-time snack in India. There are two main variations in Pav bhaji recipes namely Bombay Pav Bhaji and Jain Pav Bhaji.
