Akoori

Akoori is a traditional parsi dish that is prepared by using eggs and lots of spices. It is very similar to the popular egg dish known as scrambled eggs. The dish is usually garnished with coriander leaves served with tomato ketchup or chili sauce.

Akoori is essentially made by using some simple ingredients such as eggs, clarified butter, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, green coriander, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, chopped green chillies, chopped garlic cloves and salt to taste.

 

The dish is typically an egg-based dish that seems quite similar to scrambled eggs. The process starts with heating some clarified butter in a wok. Once the butter is hot and then some other ingredients like onion is added. Then, the onions are sautéed till turn golden brown. Next, green chilies, chopped garlic, cumin seeds, salt to taste and turmeric powder are added. Afterwards, the whole mixture is sautéed for additional 2 to 3 minutes. The mixture must be added for an additional minute after adding some tomato. Lastly, some eggs are beaten and added to the mixture. Mixed properly, the Akoori mixture is then cooked for about 2 to 3 minutes.
