|Arhar dal||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (Tovar)|
|Raw mango||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Green chilies||2 , chopped|
|Turmeric powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon (Haldi)|
|Water||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Jeera||1 Teaspoon (Cumin Seeds)|
|Whole kashmiri dry red chili||1|
|Asafoetida||1⁄4 Teaspoon (Hing)|
1 Wash the dal well.
3 In a pressure cooker, add the dal along with raw mango, green chilies, turmeric powder, salt and 4 cups of water.
4 Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles, until the dal is done.
5 In a small pan, heat the ghee.
6 Add the cumin seeds.
7 When they begin to crackle, add the asafoetida and the red chili.
8 Pour this tempering on the dal immediately.
9 Serve hot with steamed rice and papad.
