How To Make Kerala Fish Curry

Fish curry is a yummy recipe which you can serve on any gatherings. It tastes so good that you will feel to make this dish very often.
Ingredients
  Red fish 700 Gram, sliced
  Coconut oil 1 Tablespoon
  Red onion 60 Gram, chopped
  Ginger 25 Gram, chopped
  Garlic 25 Gram, chopped
  Green chilies 5 , chopped
  Curry leaves 8
  Turmeric powder 2 Teaspoon
  Red chili powder 2 Teaspoon
  Coconut milk 90 Milliliter
  Star fruit 4 , soaked in water
  Curry leaves 6
  Salt To Taste
Directions

MAKING
1. In a clay pot, pour coconut oil and heat it.
2. Stir in the red onions and sauté well. Add curry leaves, green chilies, garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
3. Stir well, add chopped ginger. Season it with turmeric powder and red chili powder.
4. Pour coconut milk and boil for 2-3 minutes. Add star fruits and salt to taste.
5. Put the fish into the gravy and cook for 10 minutes.
6. Transfer the curry into a serving bowl. Garnish with green leaves.

SERVING
7. Enjoy the Fish Curry with boiled tapioca, rice or any dish of your choice.

Ask a mallu what is the most loved dish that can be eaten on any day and the answer is surely going to me “Fish Curry.” This recipe is an easy version of the traditional red fish curry from Kerala. It is great when you want to eat fish curry and have little time to prepare. Unlike the traditional one, it doesn’t involve any roasting or grinding or shredding coconuts. This is also a healthier version of the other Meen Curries of Kerala which involve frying the fish before adding it to the coconut curry.
