Fried Malanga Root

Ingredients
  Dried italian pepper pods/1 small piece hot pepper 5
  Coarse salt 1 Tablespoon
  Peppercorns 6
  Onion 1⁄2 Medium, chopped
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm)
  Egg 1
  Finely grated malanga root 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Peanut oil 2 Cup (32 tbs), heated to 365 degrees fahrenheit (For Frying)
Directions

In a mortar, pound together to a past the pepper pods, salt, peppercorns, onion, and garlic.
Add seasoning paste and egg to grated malanga root; beat until light.
Drop mixture by spoonfuls into heated oil and fry until golden.
Drain on absorbent paper.
