Spicy Aloo Gobi Curry

Tahira's Aloo Gobi Curry is a spicy mouth watering dish, see how Tahira cooks in her kitchen, try and enjoy!
  Cauliflower 1 Medium, cut into flowers
  Onion 1 Medium, finely chopped
  Potatoes 2 Medium, cut (into 1 inch cubes)
  Crushed tomatoes 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Olive oil 5 Tablespoon
  Tomato paste 1 Tablespoon
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Garlic 1 Teaspoon, chopped finely
  Paprika 2 Teaspoon
  Fresh coriander 2 Teaspoon, finely chopped
  Garam masala and chicken masala powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Red chili powder 1 Teaspoon
  Turmeric powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon

1. Cut the cauliflower into florets and cube the potatoes, wash well.
2. Add them into a deep pan of hot water and par boil for at least 10 minutes.

3. In a round bottom vessel, heat the oil, saute the garlic and onions until golden brown.
4. In another bowl, add the tomatoes, all the spices and the water, mix well and pour the mixture into the pan, stir on a low heat.
5. Drain the potatoes and the cauliflower after done and stir into the vessel.
6. Cover and cook this on a low heat for 10 minutes.

7. Serve on a plate with boiled or steamed rice and garnish it with sliced cucumbers and cut tomatoes.

aalu gobi is one of my best loved of all sabjis... it is soooo good with rice.. i think i can have my entire meal with it... it takes time to cook but once its done..its great :)

i have just started to cook and im so glad i found this website with your recipes and videos on it! its made cooking so much easier for me . I tried the chicken tikka masala and my family was soo impressed with it! im trying to do this aloo gobi now , i find it a bit hard to understand what you mean by 1 1/2 cups of tomato? i blend one tin of tomato and made it paste like; i think one tin of tomato is equal to about 5 tomatoes , but the UK tomatoes are not very good :( .. could you clarify whether i should use one tin or two for this recipe please? thanks a million again!
