Sev biriyani is prepared with vermicelli or sevaiiyan. Cooked with ghee with saffon and elaichi for flavor, the sev biriyani can be sweetned with sugar or sweetner and served with slivered pistachio nuts.This is a special low sugar recipe great for diabetics as well as for people on low carb diet. Adapted from the Lantus book of recipes.
Ingredients
  Crushed vermicelli 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Sevayan)
  Low fat milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sugar substitute 10 Gram (2 Sachets)
  Saffron strands 3
  Cardamom powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon (Elaichi Powder)
  Ghee 2 Teaspoon
  Slivered pistachios 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add sevaiiyan and cook on a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes until the sevaiiyan is golden brown.
Add milk and 1 cup of water and cook for 5 minutes.
Add sugar substitute, cardamom powder and Garnish with slivered pistachios.
Serve hot.
