Sukhi Urad Dal

Sukhi urad daal is an indian lentil preparation of split black gram. Cooked in the microwave with water and flavored with spices like asafoetida, turmeric, gilies, coriander leaves and ginger, the sukhi urad daal is served hot with a prikling of lemon juice.
  Split black gram 200 Gram
  Water 400 Milliliter
  Asafoetida 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Turmeric powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Onion 50 Gram, finely chopped
  Green chilies 4 , finely chopped
  Coriander leaves 3 Tablespoon, finely chopped
  Ginger piece 1 , finely chopped
  Desi ghee 1 Tablespoon
  Lemon 1 , juiced
  Cumin seeds 1⁄2 Teaspoon

Wash and soak dal in water for one hour.
Drain and keep aside.
Heat ghee in a 1.5 litre deep dish on 100% power for 1 min.
Add the cumin seeds, asafoetida and ginger.
Microwave on 100% power for 1minute.
Add finely chopped onions, Mix and microwave on 100% power for 3 minutes.
Add soaked and drained dal, salt, turmeric powder, finely chopped green chilliess, corriander leaves and water.
Mix and micro wave, partially covered on 100% power for 5 :00 minutes.
Reduce power level to 80% and microwave further for 15:00 minutes.
Mix and allow to stand covered with an aluminium foil lid for 10 minutes before serving.
Sprinkle with a little lemon juice.
Serve hot with roti, naan or parathas.
