Apple Mulligatawny Soup

The mulligatwany soup is a prepared with vegetables and red gram. Cooked in a microwave, the mulligatwany saoup is filling and can be served as a main course in a meal and is flavored with bay leaf, peppercorns, cloves, sambhar powder and lemon juice.
Ingredients
  Red gram 50 Gram
  Water 375 Milliliter
  Carrots 100 Gram, chopped
  Onions 100 Gram, chopped
  Cooking apples 100 Gram, peel, core and chop
  Water 500 Milliliter
  Bay leaf 1
  Cloves 4
  Peppercorns 6
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Salt To Taste
  Sambhar powder 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
  Turmeric powder 1 Pinch
Directions

Wash and soak the lentil in water for 1 hour.
Drain.
Microwave the lentil, in a 1 litre medium dish, with 375 ml.
Water 1/2 teaspoon salt and a pinch of turmeric powder on 100% power for 14:00 minutes, till tender.
Allow to stand for 10:00 minutes and keep aside.
Heat 500ml water, in a 1 litre medium dish with the bay leaf, cloves and peppercorns on 100% power for 4:00 minutes.
Add the onions, carrots and apples and microwave on auto cook 3" after increasing the Quantity to 300 gms.
Allow standing for 5:00 minutes.
Strain & retain the stock.
Discard the whole spices.
Cool and puree with the boiled lentil.
Heat butter in a 1.5 litre deep dish on 100% power for 40 seconds.
Add the pureed lentil and vegetables together with salt, pepper powder and Sambhar powder.
Mix well and Microwave on 100% power for 5:00 minutes.
Sprinkle with lemon juice and serve hot.
Garnish with a little whipped cream, if desired.
