Creamy rice based Indian dessert which is easy to make and liked by all.
Milk | 4 Cup (64 tbs) | |
Basmati rice | 3 Tablespoon | |
Water | 50 Milliliter | |
Sugar | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Cardamom powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Sliced almonds | 1 Teaspoon | |
Chopped cashew nuts | 1 Teaspoon | |
Saffron | 2 Gram | |
Warm water | 1 Teaspoon |
GETTING READY
1. In a bowl, soak rice in water for 40 minutes.
2. In blender, add the soaked rice along with the water and blend into a smooth paste.
MAKING
3. In a pan, pour milk and let it simmer over low flame for 4-5 minutes.
4. Add 60 ml of warm milk into the rice paste and stir well.
5. Once the milk comes to a simmer add the rice milk paste, stir constantly and cook until the phirni becomes little thick.
6. Add sugar, stir constantly and cook until sugar dissolves.
7. Dissolve saffron in warm water and add it to the pan. Stir well. Remove the pan from flame, let cool and then place in fridge for a couple of hours.
SERVING
8. Garnish with almonds, cashew nuts and serve.
