Aloo Badi Ki Sabzi

It is a wonderful spicy preparation, perfect to pamper your Indian taste buds. Badi is a great ingredient to be used in hot preparations.
Ingredients
  Badiyaan 30 Gram
  Potato 3 , cut into pieces
  Onion 3
  Garlic cloves 10
  Tomato 1
  Red chili powder 1 Teaspoon
  Garam masala 2 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Mustard oil 3 Tablespoon
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Directions

GETTING READY
1. In a blender, place onion, tomato and garlic, blend to a fine paste.

MAKING
2. In a pressure cooker, heat oil, deep fry the badis until crisp, remove from oil and set aside.
3. In the same cooker, pour in the onion - tomato paste, cook stirring until oil separates.
4. Add potato, garam masala and chili powder, saute for 2 minutes. Add in the water, fried badis and season with salt, close the lid and pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles.

SERVING
5. Serve with roti or rice.

My Mom is too good in making badis. Well, if you are not aware of what badis are :- It is generally made out of urad dal paste, mixed with some spices and veggies. The mixture is divided into equal sized balls and then allowed to dry in sun until crisp. I shall share the recipe for it soon. You also get it ready made in market nowadays. The lizzat ones are good. Badi with potato is a popular preparation, it is spicy and goes great with rice or chapati. There are a number of variations of this recipe, here is my version..
