Gahat ki Dal
|Gahat dal||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Horse gram)|
|Powdered rice||1 Tablespoon (Leveled)|
|Cumin seeds/Gandhreni||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Coriander powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Red chili powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Oil||1 Tablespoon (Leveled)|
|Ghee||1 Tablespoon (Leveled)|
1. In a pressure cooker, cook gahat dal with coriander powder, turmeric powder, chili powder and salt.
2. Make a paste of rice powder with little water and add it to the dal. Cook for some time by simmering.
3. In a pan, take heated oil and add asafoetida and cumin seeds or gandhareni. Allow to splutter and then add to boiling dal.
4. The dal is served hot with rice/ roti and side dish such as badi ki subzi and bhang ki chutney.
