Four Spice Tea Recipe (Ayurveda Remedy)

This four spice tea is often made using dry ginger in place of fresh ginger in almost every south Indian household. The Ayurvedic property of the spices added in this blend also make this tea excellent for health. The coriander seeds have a cooling property in Ayurveda and when combined with ginger they are know to provide relief from cold and flu. This calming and soothing tea also is beneficial for the kidneys to function well.
  Coriander seeds 1 Teaspoon
  Whole peppercorn 5 Small
  Fresh ginger 1 Tablespoon
  Green cardamom 2 Medium
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Honey 1 Tablespoon
  Milk 2 Teaspoon (Optional)

1.In a skillet, dry roast all the spices except the ginger for 3 minutes or until the spices let out a nice aroma.
2.In a mortar and pestle, crush the roasted spices into a coarse powder.
3.Using the mortar and pestle again, crush the fresh ginger.
5.In a pan, heat the water.
6.Add the prepared spice mix and the crushed ginger.
7.Let it come to a boil and remain so for 5 minutes.
8.Pour it through a strainer into a cup.

9. Serve hot sweetened with honey. Add milk if desired.
