My family loves this Khichdi Recipe .Khichdi is a unique Indian dish. It is also known as khichdee ,khichadi ,khichuri, and khichadi. Khichdi is an Indian dish that contains a combination of rice and lentils .It is generally eaten during illness period as it is simple, healthy and easy to digest .Therefore Khichdi is commonly considered to be India’s comfort food . You should try this Khichdi Recipe.
  Rice 250 Gram
  Split moong dal 100 Gram
  Toor dal 100 Gram
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Haldi 1 Pinch
  Red chilli powder 1 Pinch
  Ghee/Oil or butter 100 Gram
  Tomato 100 Gram (Small Size)
  Green chili 1⁄2 Teaspoon, finely chopped
  Ginger 1⁄4 Inch
  Garam masala 1 Teaspoon
  Jeera 1

Wash the rice and all the dals and keep to boil. In a separate pan heat oil, add jeera, fry till brown and add finely chopped, tomato, ginger, green chilli; when this is mashed add salt, haldi, red chilli powder, garam masala.

Mix the boiled rice and dals along with the above masala and heat till they blend well. When finally done garnish with coriander leaves, (ginger juliennes) For a variation you may add any one of the following: potato / carrots / palak / cauliflower / Methi leaves /sweet pumpkin

Adding a few Bay leaves, cloves and cinnamon sticks enhances its flavor greatly. Good recipe.
