|Toovar dal||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Green chilies||2 Medium, mince|
|Coriander leaves||4 Teaspoon|
|Garam masala||1 Teaspoon|
|Mustard seeds||1 Teaspoon|
|Turmeric powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Salt and chilli powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Soak tamarind in water and make pulp.
Soak toovar dal few hours before you start cooking.
Cook the dal with turmeric until it is almost done. Remove from heat and keep aside.
Now, add salt, chillies, tamarind, and chilli powder to the dal and cook until dal is done.
Take a wok and heat ghee. Add mustard, asafoetida and let it splatter. Then add garam masala.
Pour it over dal.
Garnish the dal with coconut and coriander leaves and serve with rice or chapatti.
