Miryalu Charu/ Rasam ( Black Pepper & Tomatoes Soup)
|Black pepper seeds||1 Tablespoon|
|Coriander seeds||1 Tablespoon (dhaniya)|
|Cumin seeds||1⁄2 Teaspoon (jeera)|
|Tamarind||25 Gram, soaked in water|
|Chilli powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Turmeric powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garam masala powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dhaniya powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Rasam powder||2 Tablespoon|
Grind black pepper, dhaniya seeds & jeera coarsely.
Heat 2 tbs oil & 1 tbs ghee in a deep vessel. When hot, add the coarsely ground mixture to it & saute for half a minute.
Boil tomatoes separately in 1 cup water & puree them, add this to the above mixture.
Soak Tamarind in 1 cup water for 5 minutes, strain & pour this mixture in the vessel.
Allow the mixture to boil for sometime. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, dhaniya powder, garam masala, rasam powder & coriander leaves
Add another cup of water. Add salt according to taste & let boil until you get a nice aroma.
Serve Hot with Rice or can also have it as soup.
