Okra And Tomatoes

Ingredients
  Okra 1 Pound
  Bacon slices 3 , chopped
  Onion 1 Large, chopped
  Green pepper 1 Medium, finely chopped
  Canned tomatoes 16 Ounce, chopped (1 Can)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1)Wash, drain and cut okra into 1/2 inch slices.
2)In a Dutch oven, fry bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels.

MAKING
3)Cook cut okra in dripping of bacon until brown in color.
4)Toss in onion, green pepper and cook until tender with occassional stirring.
5)Stir in salt, pepper, tomatoes. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
6) Add the bacon and heat.

SERVING
7)Makes perfect side-dish for main course dishes containing pasta or rice.
