Greens Dal Curry

This Greens dal curry is very healthy and tasty to be had with rice or chapati. Try and enjoy!
  Greens 2 Cup (32 tbs), washed and chopped
  Toor dal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Onion 2 , finely chopped
  Tomato 1 , finely chopped
  Red chilly 2
  Asafoetida 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Mustard seeds 1 Teaspoon
  Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon
  Turmeric powder 1 Teaspoon
  Red chili powder 1 Teaspoon
  Grated coconut 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt To Taste
  Oil 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For Frying)

1. Grind together grated coconut and 1/2 tsp cumin seeds in to fine paste.
2. Heat oil in pressure cooker, add the mustard seeds, remaining cumin seeds and saute till splatter.
3. Add the onions, dry chilly, asefeotida and saute till transparent.
4. Now add the tomatoes and saute for 2 mins. Add the dal and saute a min.
5. Put the greens, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, salt and saute. Add water till the greens sink and close the lid.
6. Put in high flame and cook for 2 whistles, simmer and cook for 1 whistle.
7. After done, open the lid and adjust the taste and add the coconut paste and boil for 2mins till the curry consisitency.

Serve with hot plain rice or chappati. Enjoy!!

Greens Dal curry is my grandma's recipe. She makes this with the original greens and dal aroma. I learnt it from my mom, my favourite too. try and enjoy!
