1. Soak gram in water for about 2 hours.
2. Grind coarsely with onion. Chop chillies fine and slice ginger.
3. Mix together ground gram, green chillies and salt.
4. Heat a fry-pan. Add a tsp of fat.
5. Spread half the mixture in pan to form a round about 12.5 cm. in diameter. Top with thin slices of ginger. Fry.
6. When one side is fried, turn over and fry second side. Add a little more fat if necessary.
