Split Green Gram Khichdi

Ingredients
  Split green gram dal with skin 300 Gram
  Rice 150 Gram
  Cumin 2 Gram
  Garam masala powder 4 Gram
  Chili powder 2 Gram
  Cinnamon 2 Gram
  Black cardamom 4 Gram
  Ginger 20 Gram
  Onions 60 Gram
  Fat 100 Gram
  Salt To Taste
Directions

1. Wash and soak split green gram and rice separately. Heat half the fat.
2. Add cumin, chilli, cinnamon, cardamom and garam masala. Fry well.
3. Add rice and split green gram. Fry again.
4. Add twice the amount of hot water and salt. Cook till both rice and gram are tender.
5. Heat remaining fat. Fry sliced ginger and onion (if used), till brown.
6. Add khitchdi, mix well and remove.
