My mom alos makes this at home and I have never seen her using the blender or electric mixer. First of all, this is a buttermilk recipe which lighter enough, but thicker than water may be. All what i guarantee is this is an excellent thirst quencher as well as, when chilled an excellet cooler. Go for it!
