Herbed Basmati Rice

Ingredients
  Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced (Large Clove)
  Basmati rice 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (Uncooked)
  Water 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Thinly sliced green onion tops 3 Tablespoon
  Minced fresh basil 1 Tablespoon
  Minced fresh thyme 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Grated fresh parmesan cheese 3⁄4 Ounce (3 Tablespoon)
Directions

1. Melt margarine in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Add garlic; saute 1 minute. Stir in rice. Add water and salt; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Stir in green onion tops, basil, and thyme. Spoon into a serving bowl; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Garnish with thyme sprigs, if desired.
