Microwave Saffron Rice

Ingredients
  Olive oil/Vegetable oil 1 Tablespoon
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), minced
  Regular long grain rice 1 Cup (16 tbs), uncooked
  Canned ready to serve chicken broth 14 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can, Swanson Clear)
  Water 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Saffron/Generous dash turmeric 1⁄8 Teaspoon, crushed
  Sliced green onions 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Toasted sliced almonds 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

1. In 2-quart microwave-safe casserole, combine oil and garlic. Cover with lid; microwave on high 1 minute.
2. Stir in rice, broth, water and saffron. Cover; microwave on high 10 minutes. Stir.
3. Reduce power to 50%. Cover; microwave 10 minutes or until rice is nearly done. Stir in green onions and almonds. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes or until rice is tender.
