Ingredients
  Besan 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Ingredients)
  Ghee 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Ingredients)
  Milk powder 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Ingredients)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Ingredients)
Directions

Method:
• Melt ghee and fry besan in it till a nice smell comes out.
• Transfer the mixture in another vessel and mix with milk powder.
• Make thick sugar syrup.
• Drop the fried besan mixture in sugar syrup and stir it.
• Transfer it to a greased plate.
• Cut into diamond shaped pieces.
• Besan burfi is ready.

And again Main Ingredient says 'Alcohol'!!. The recipe is good but 1 cup ghee and 1-1/2 cup sugar makes its extremely fattening. Is there a low-fat version to this?

Dairy is the main ingredient and English should say it is an Indian Sweet not a repetition of the Indian name. Just reading this yummy recipe put pounds on. Shanti/Mary-Anne

thanks all...main ingredient is dairy product.....well this recipe is for whom,who want to put some pounds on...and this recipe is healthy too if ur food habit is balanced,if u want to make this recipe low-fat then add "sugar free" instead of sugar....

how thick should be the srup?

1-1/2 Cup sugar and 1-1/2 water.......melt sugar in water till syrup get little thick

Snigdh....sorry but you are totally wrong here. Who said you have to eat tons of it. You can limit your portion and enjoy the taste. But, I think that is something you probably do not know how to do.!!
