Ingredients
  Besan 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Sugar 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Ghee 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cardamom powder 1 Teaspoon
  Saffron 1⁄4 Teaspoon (soaked in a little milk)
Directions

Sieve the gram flour and roast it in a pan on a very low fire till aromatic.
Keep aside.
In a heavy bottomed vessel, make a syrup of the sugar with 1 cup of water and bring to one-thread consistency.
Slowly sprinkle the gram flour over the syrup and cook.
Keep adding ghee, stirring constantly.
When the mixture leaves the sides of the vessel and all the ghee is exhausted, add the cardamom powder and the saffron.
Stir well and reduce the heat.
Pat onto a greased plate.
Leave to cool.
While still warm, cut into squares.
Cool, and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
