Dal Dhokli

Ingredients
  Arhar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Peanuts 2 Tablespoon
  Tamarind 1 Tablespoon, soaked
  Tomato 1 Medium, chopped
  Green chillies 2 , chopped
  Jaggery 4 Tablespoon
  Turmeric powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Red chilli powder 1 Teaspoon
  Garam masala 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Coriander 1 Teaspoon
  Ginger 1 Teaspoon, grated
  Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Red chilli powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Fenugreek seeds 1⁄4 Teaspoon (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
  Cumin seeds 1⁄4 Teaspoon (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
  Cloves 2 (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
  Cinnamon stick 1 (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
  Bay leaf 1 (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
  Chillies 2 Small (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
  Asafoetida 1⁄4 Teaspoon (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
  Ghee 1 Tablespoon (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
  Oil 1 Tablespoon (For tempering ¼ tsp mustard seeds)
Directions

i. Wash and pressure cook the dal and the peanuts with 4 cups of water
ii. Cool the dal and blend it well. Don’t blend the peanuts
iii. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger, tamarind water, jaggery and the masalas to the dal and bring it to a boil.
iv. Prepare the tempering meanwhile, adding the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, red whole chillies, asafetida, cloves, cinnamon and the bay leaf with the oil and the ghee.
v. Add the tempering to the dal.
vi. Make dough out of the flour and the masalas added to it using water.
vii. Divide it into equal portions and roll out rotis/chapattis
viii. Cut these rotis into diamond or squares and add slowly one by one to the dal on fire.
ix. Make sure you add the pieces only one by one, otherwise they can turn into a lump.
x. Cook for 5 minutes on high flame, and add extra water incase the dal is turning thick.
xi. Add juice of the lemon and garnish with chopped coriander
xii. Serve hot, with ghee and papad or chips.

Dal Dhokli. Yummy. I just made some for lunch today. However I do not add peanuts and added a little garam masala to the dhokli dough. It tastes so good with Jeera Rice or just by itself.
