West Indian Punch
|Lemon juice/Null||1 Pint (Null)|
|Sugar syrup/Null||1 Pint (Null)|
|Sugar/Null||1 Pound (Null)|
|Rum/Null||1 1⁄4 Pint (Null)|
|Water/Null||2 Pint (Null)|
|Grated nutmeg/Null||1 Teaspoon (Null)|
|Angostura bitters/Null||3 (Null)|
Make syrup; combine water and sugar in saucepan.
Bring to boil, stir to dissolve sugar; cool.
Mix all ingredients together lightly.
Add a few drops of angostura bitters to give a light pink tint.
Refrigerate until well chilled.
Put a spoonful of crushed ice in each glass, pour in punch.
Top each glass with grated nutmeg.
A maraschino cherry can be added.
