Yummy Gulab Jamun
|Water||1 1⁄4 Pint|
|Rose water||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Non fat dried milk powder||8 Ounce|
|Double cream||1⁄4 Pint|
|Almonds||1 Ounce, chopped|
|Oil||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
Put the sugar and water in a pan over very low heat.
When the sugar has dissolved, raise the heat and cook to a thick syrup.
Allow the syrup to cool, then add the rose water.
Pour the syrup into a glass serving bowl and set aside.
Mix the flour and dried milk in a bowl and gradually add the cream, stirring to form a dough.
Crack the cardamoms and separate the seeds.
Take teaspoonfuls of the dough and make a small hollow in the centre of each one.
Place a few cardamom seeds, 1-2 raisins and a few chopped almonds in each hollow.
Fold the pieces of dough to enclose the filling.
Form into 'pillow' shapes.
Deep fry in the hot oil until crisp and golden brown.
Drain on kitchen paper.
