Easy Spinach Dal

Are you looking for simple way to make spinach dal? This recipe is perfect for you. I like this healthy spinach dal because it is a high protein dish. It is a very common dish in the Indian homes. It is primarily eaten during Lunch. Spinach Dal goes well with rice, but it can also be eaten with roti .You should try this Spinach Dal Recipe.
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Coriander sprig 1 , leaves taken
  Curry leaves sprig 1
  Garlic 5 Clove (25 gm)
  Green chili 2
  Hing 1 Pinch
  Jeera 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Mustard 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Oil 1 Tablespoon
  Onion 1
  Whole red chili 2
  Salt To Taste
  Spinach 10 Ounce (1 Bag)
  Tomato 2 Large
  Toor dal 1 Cup (16 tbs), boiled
  Turmeric 1 Pinch

1. For preparing the spinach dal, firstly pressure cook the dal (any lentil), mash and keep aside.
2. Wash the spinach well cut and keep aside.
3. In a pan add little oil, add dry red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin, and garlic, curry leaves, hing (optional), chopped onions and mix. Sauté until the onions are transparent.
4. Add chopped green chillies, turmeric powder and sauté.
5. Add chopped tomatoes and mix well. Add little water and cook.
6. Add salt and cover with a lid. Cook until the tomatoes are soft for about 10 mins.
7. Then add chopped spinach, mashed dal and mix well. Cook well till the foam disappears.
8. Add butter to give that extra zing and flavor.
9. Eat hot with puri, chapatti, hot rice or papad.
