Medu Vada is a favourite on many occasions and is an excellent breakfast item in the south indian cooking . here is a method by which it can be easily prepared..
Urad dal powder
1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
3 Cup (48 tbs)
2 Cup (32 tbs) (For deep frying)
1. In a mixer, attach whipping ladle, pour water and 1 cup of urad dal powder, add pepper, salt and curry leaves, blend to get a homogeneous consistency. Mix some more urad dal powder to get a thick consistency.
2. In a medium wok, heat oil.
3. Take a plastic sheet, apply some water on it, pour a spoonful of batter onto the sheet, using your wet hand make a donut shape. Transfer it to your hand and gently slide into the wok, fry from both the sides until they turn brown from both the sides.
4. Serve as a snack or as breakfast along with sambhar and chutney.
