Baked Chicken That Makes Its Own Gravy
|Frying chicken pieces||3 1⁄2 Pound|
|Flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Melted butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Undiluted carnation||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Evaporated milk||1 Cup (16 tbs) (As Needed)|
|Condensed cream of mushroom soup||10 3⁄4 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Grated process american cheese||4 Ounce (1 Cup)|
|Canned whole onions||1 Pound, drained (1 Can / 2 Cups)|
|Sliced mushrooms||1⁄4 Pound|
Coat chicken with flour.
Arrange chicken in single layer with skin down in melted butter in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
Bake uncovered in 425°F oven for 30 minutes.
Turn chicken, bake until brown, 15 to 20 minutes longer, until tender.
Remove from oven and reduce temperature to 325T.
Pour off excess fat.
Combine Carnation, soup, cheese, salt and pepper.
Add onions and mushrooms to chicken.
Pour Carnation mixture over chicken.
Sprinkle with paprika.
Cover dish with foil.
Return to oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
