How To Make Batata-Pawa / Curried Poatato + Rice Flakes

ONE-MAN show gives you a method to make BATATA-PAWA (a curried potatoes with rice flakes), a dish for quick breakfast lunch or spicy snack dish. ENJOY!
  Oil 4 Tablespoon
  Whole cumin seed 1 Teaspoon
  Mustard seeds 1 Teaspoon
  White onion 1 Medium, chopped
  Garlic cloves 3 Medium, chopped
  Green chilies To Taste (Optional)
  Ginger To Taste (Optional)
  Red potatoes 1 Pound, peeled, cubed (2 large red potatoes used)
  Cumin powder 1 Teaspoon
  Coriander powder 1 Teaspoon
  Red chili powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Sugar To Taste
  Lemon juice To Taste
  Poha 1⁄2 Pound (Pawa or Rice flakes)
  Warm water 8 Ounce
For the garnish
  Cilantro 2 Tablespoon, chopped
  Coconut flakes 2 Tablespoon

1. Soak the pawa/poha in warm water for about 30 minutes.

2. Heat a pan with oil, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds.
3. When they pop, add the onions, garlic, green chilies and ginger (if using) and saute for 2 minutes.
4. Add the cubed red potatoes and saute for 4 minutes.
5. Add the spices, mix well.
6. Add salt, sugar and lemon juice to taste.
7. Garnish with chopped cilantro and coconut flakes.
8. Drain the poha and add to the potato mixture. Fold in to combine the mixture well, simmer for about 2 minutes and turn off the heat.

9. Serve with yogurt.

To make instant batata pawa:
In a large glass bowl, add 1 tbsp of oil and 3 oz of water. Heat on high for 3 minutes (in a microwave oven), add the dry mixture, stir and cover, heat for 3 minutes. Instant batata pawa is ready.
