Microwave Urad Ki Dal

Urad daal is a regular day to day recipe made in homes. But it is interesting to learn to make it in microwave, sans conventional cooking methods.
Ingredients
  Urad dal/Maash daal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Onion 1⁄4 , finely chopped
  Ginger piece 1 Inch, chopped
  Chicken stock cube 1⁄2
  Dried chilies 2
  Curry leaves 1⁄2
  Jeera 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Green chili slices 1 Tablespoon
  Mint 1 Teaspoon
  Red chili 2
  Coriander 1 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 , finely sliced
Directions

Soak dal in water. Add onions, ginger, oil, chicken stock, dried chilis and curry leaves.
Cover it with a plastic wrap and microwave it for 15 minutes.
Open the wrap and mix the dal. Mcrowave it for 3 more minutes.
Adjust salt and transfer into serving dish.
For final baghar heat oil, add cumin, onion, curry leaves, red chili and then the remaining ingredients.
Spread it over the daal. Serve hot.

Here is a Microwave Urad dal recipe for those who are not well versed with the conventional cooking style. It’s actually easier to cook in a microwave as it doesn’t need constant attention while the dal is cooked. Then, all it needs is Baghar or tempering of seasonings with included mint leaves, curry leaves, red and green chillies and cumin. This is the most important step as the seasonings should crackle well and should not be burnt.
