Kabuli Chana Dhal

Ingredients
  Kabuli channa dhal 125 Gram
  Turmeric powder 1 Teaspoon
  Soda bicarbonate 1 Teaspoon
  Onion 1 , chopped
  Ginger 1 , cut into fine strips
  Ghee 1 Tablespoon
  Curry leaves 8
  Fenugreek seeds 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Tamarind water 2 Tablespoon
  Cumin seeds 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Chillies 4 , slit lengthwise
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Coriander leaves 4
Directions

Soak the kabuli channa overnight.
Boil ten cups of water; put in the dhal, a little soda and the onion.
Cook till the dhal gets soft.
Mash it with a fork and rub through a sieve.
Grind the dhal left in the sieve to a fine paste, adding a little warm water, and strain it Heat the ghee on a moderate fire and fry the fenugreek and cumin seeds.
Pour in the strained dhal and add the rest of the ingredients.
Cook for ten more minutes, stirring at intervals.
