Indian snacks are known for their crunchy crispy bites and this Onion Dal Pakodas are just the kind it can ever be. A great tea-time accompaniment to serve, these Onion Dal Pakodas also upholds healthy way of snacking! So give it a try, I bet you'll love it too!
  Bengal gram 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Mung dal 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Rice flour 1 Tablespoon
  Chickpea flour 1 Tablespoon
  Onions 4 Medium, finely chopped
  Chili powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon (Or To Taste)
  Green chili 1 , deseeded and chopped fine
  Pepper powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Coriander leaves 1 Tablespoon, chopped fine
  Asafoetida 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste

Wash and soak the dals for an hour.
Grind with as little water as possible.
Transfer to a big bowl and add the chopped onion.
Then add the rice flour, chick pea flour, green chillies, red chillie powder, pepper powder, chopped coriander and salt, to make a thick batter to fashion pakodas out of.
If the batter is too runny add extra chick pea flour.
Shape into flat round pakodas.
Pre heat the oven to 250°C.
Grease a biscuit sheet and place the pakodas on it.
Smear lightly with oil.
Bake at 220°C for 20 minutes or till done.
Serve hot with tomato sauce ,or mint chutney.
