Roti is my comfort food.. Its a very basic recipe.. But many people requested, so why not share this also? I am going to show you how to make some soft n yummy rotis in this video..
But thats not all, our friends who stay in abroad, usually dont have the burner top. So, we'll show you how to puff a roti in a tawa/pan!
Whole wheat flour | 2 Cup (32 tbs) , atta (Additional flour to dust) | |
Salt | To Taste |
MAKING
Take a big plate, add whole wheat flour and salt. Mix it well.
Add water as required and knead the dough well, the consistency should be nice and soft, not too soft not too hard. Transfer the dough to a bowl and let it rest for ten minutes.
Divide the dough into even sized ball. Take a rolling board and rolling pin and some more wheat flour for dusting.
Flatten one ball, dust it flour and roll it on the rolling board till its nice round and thin. Do not apply too much pressure and roll softly. Dust it more flour if required so that the roti does not stick.
Take a heavy tawa and heat it. When the tawa is medium hot place the roti. Let it cook till there are some bubbles. Then turn it over with tongs and cook.
Once it is well cooked, place it directly on the flame and puff it.
To puff it directly on the tawa follow the initial steps, use a cloth to gently press and turn the roti till it puffs
SERVING
Serve the rotis hot with sabji and dal.
